I am Free to Do What I Want
By admin at 16 June, 2009, 11:59 pm
In this society, many of us really believe we are free to do what we want with our lives. And being a teenager or young adult, brings with it a whole different perspective. Soon as we enter into the world of being a young person in this society, we are tempted to take on a whole outlook on the way we live life. Whether its going out to clubs and pubs, looking for no-strings-attached romance or being typically rebellious with family and authority; the attitude of just living by whatever takes ones fancy or gives one pleasure is a common one for teenagers.

Comprehensive Information on Permissibility of Oral Sex
By admin at 1 December, 2008, 2:40 am
Books of fiqh tend to be quite dry when it comes to bedroom behavior. What you usually find is in the form “everything is permissible, except for x, y, and z” instead of a detailed checklist of things to try if you wish. While the traditional approach of generality is fine as a teaching tool for students of knowledge who would be asked specific questions, it is less effective when laymen have no one to ask, when the only people available to ask mean well and know a bit more than the questioner but are laymen themselves, or when laymen go to the books directly.

Everything of sexual activities between husband and wife relations are lawful except having intercourse during menstruation or nifas (after delivery of a baby, when the woman is still bleeding). Anal sex is unlawful as well. If you ask about oral sex, it has nothing to do with halal or haram, it is a matter of culture. Islamically, there is nothing haram in doing it.

Spouses to look at each others’ Private Parts
By admin at 1 December, 2008, 2:08 am
Question: Did Prophet (peace be upon him) never ever in his life looked on His (peace be upon him) private parts of his wives? This Hadith is narrated from Ayisha (Allah bless her) that he (peace be upon) never looked at my private parts and I never looked at his (peace be upon him) private parts? Why did he never do that? Was that for modesty and shyness? Is this Hadith true? Because there is also narrated a Hadith where Ayisha narrated that me and Prophet (peace be upon him) bathed together in a single pot of water? Was they not naked in front of each other on this event? Is that Haram for every Muslim husband and wife to look at each others private parts?
The Distorted Image of Muslim Women
By Rab!a at 4 November, 2008, 12:49 pm
Since the height of the feminist movement in the late 70’s there has been a magnifying glass placed over the status of Muslim women. Unfortunately, the magnifying glass that has been used is an unusual one.

By Rab!a at 4 November, 2008, 12:34 pm
Among the many topics of interest to non-Muslims, the status of Muslim women and the theme of their rights — or rather, the perceived lack of them – seems to be foremost. The media’s portrayal of Muslim women, usually outlining their “oppression and mystery” seems to contribute to this negative perception.
