1 – Salat-al-Tasbeeh

How to perform Salat-al-Tasbeeh?

This salaat (salaa/namaz) is offered in four Raka’t at a time and can be read in any part of the day and night besides Zawal and Sunrise and Sunset makrooh times, keeping in mind the forbidden times for performing Salat (namaaz). But is is preferred before Zuhr (Fatawa Alamgeeri)

What to Tasbeeh?

The Tasbeeh to be read in Salat-al-Tasbeeh:

“Subhaan Allahi Wal-Hamdulillahi Wa-La-ilaha illallaahu Wallahu Akbar”

Method (Proposed):

Goal is to recite above Tasbeeh 300 times in Four Rakah i.e. 75 times in one Raka’t! You can even split these 75 times into a more convenient method of your choice. One method is as follows:

  1. In the first rakaat, after reading Sana “Subhaana Kallahumma…”, read the above Tasbeeh 15 times.

  2. Now recite Aaoz “Aoozubillah…”, Bismillah “Bismillah…”, Then read sura Fatiha and a Surah or minimum of three small Ayayhs then read the Tasbeeh 15 times again.

  3. Go to ruku’ saying Takbeer (Allah Hoo Akbar), after reciting “Subhaana Rabbiyal Azeem” minimum of three times read the Tasbeeh 15 times in Ruku.

  4. Saying “Samee Allahu Liman Hamidah Rabbana Lakal Hamdh” get up from ruku’ to qiyam position and Now read the Tasbeeh 15 times.

  5. Go to Sajdah saying Takbeer (Allah Hoo Akbar) and after reciting “Subhaana Rabbiyal A’la” minimum of three times read the Tasbeeh 15 times in Sajdah.

Reading it 15 times in a go for 5 times make it 75 times in each Rakaat. Simple!

Get up to begin 2nd Raka’t saying Takbeer (Allah Hoo Akbar). Repeat the above method in each Rakaat.

Special notes for Salat-al-Tasbeeh:

  1. Do not count loudly. It will break Salaah

  2. Do not count on fingers or by holding a Bead Tasbeeh in hand. It is Makruh.

  3. You may count by pressing the fingers as a reminder. For example if you are in Ruku. You me press pinky of your right hand first for the first count, then the finger next to it for second count, then the middle finger for third count, following this method until you reach the pinky of left hand will give you an exact count of ten. Use the same method in Qayaam, Sajdah and Jalsa.

  4. If missed a count then make it up in the next posture. For example if forgot to recite Tasbeeh after Surah in Qayaam. Then you may recite Tasbeeh 30 times instead of 15 in ruku’ after “Subhaana Rabbiyal Azeem”. Missed Tasbeeh cannot be recited in Qayaam after ruku’ and Jalsa between Sajdah. If you missed the Tasbeeh in ruku’ then recite 30 in the first Sajdah instead of the Qayaam after rukuh. Similarly if missed the Tasbeeh in first Sajdah then do not make it up in Jalsa. Instead recite missed Tasbeeh in the second Sajdah. If Tasbeeh has been missed in last sajdah of second or fourth Rakah then you can recite the missed ones before Attahiyat in Qaidah.

  5. If you miss a wajib in Salah and have to do Sajdah Sahaw. You don’t have to recite Tasbeeh in Sajdah sahoo, since the 300 count has been established. But if you had missed Tasbeeh in any of the postures and remember it now. Then you may recite the missed Tasbeeh in Sajdah Sahoo now.

  6. It is preferable to recite after Surah Fatiha Sura Takathuur in the first raka’, Surah Wal A’sr in the second raka’, Surah Kaferoon (qul ya aiyuhal Kafiroon) in the third and Surah Akhlas (Qul hu wAllah-hu ahad) in the fourth raka’. If one does not remember these Surah they can recite the any other they prefer.

May Allah accept this dua’ (supplication) for the sake of the trustworthy PROPHET MOHAMMED (Allah’s Grace & Peace be upon him) and bless the source/provider(s) of this article and it’s readers as well.

Amen

3 – Dua for Odds Nights of Ramadan Kareem

“Ya Allah this day, at this very moment thousands of men and women, young and old are engaged in ibadat; ya Allah this day men and women are prostrating down in front of you, are begging for You of Your Mercy and are asking for Your Rehmah, and on this day thousands of scholars, thousands of worshippers, auliya Allah, Saliheen, sideeqeen are engaged in Your worship. Ya Allah how am I, someone who’s iman is so feeble, is so weak, he who has brought to You years of sin, years of ghaflah, years of heedlessness, years of neglect, years of disobedience, years of shamelessness, years of jealousy, years of hypocrisy, years of miserliness, years of anger, years of backbiting, years of ungratefulness, years of envy, years of greed, years of recklessness, years of hatred of fellow muslim brothers and sisters!

Ya Allah how do we stand in front of you when those true ones have brought to you on this night, years of worship, years of obedience, years of ibadat, years of patience, years of khidmat, years of shukr, years of love and fellowship with their brothers and sisters!

Ya Arhamarahimeen! We only turn to Your Mercy, we only turn to Your attribute of Al-Ghaffar of Al-Ghafoor! Of which we’ve heard that is bound to overcome Your Anger and Wrath on the Day of Judgement. We beg You to forgive us for all our past sins. Of all the heedlessness, of all the gaze that we misguided, all the hatred that we have of all the greed and lust for power and love for this world! Ya Allah we have nothing to present to you but still we have faith in Your Mercy in Your Mohabbat, who’s mohabbat is supposed to surpass the love of a mother for her child. Ya Rabee forgive us Grant us power over the disbelivers, Grant us Salvation from the Fire! Ya Allah we cannot ask of you Jannah! Just take us out of Jhannam!

Ya Allah in the Quran you have said :”Allah is the friend of those who believe.” Ya Allah You could have said friend of those who are Shuhadah (martyrs), friend of those who are Sidiqeen (true ones), Saliheen ( ) , friend of those mutaqeen (those who have taqwa); no! But Allah You Said those who believe! Ya Allah just by saying the kalmia we become your wali? We those sinning muslims of our time whove neglected the Sunnah of your beloved Prophet (SAW)? Allah You say in the Quran :”HE takes them out of darkness into lightness!” Ya Raheem! Please take us into lightness! Bring us into the lightness of iman and save us from the darkness of neglect and sin.

Ya Allah in the Hadith, we hear from Imam Nawawi (RA) ‘s compilation of hadeeth that when a sinning servant turns to Allah in remorse and begs to You for forgiveness Ya Allah you become more happy than a traveler who is travelling on a camel in a desert and rests back on a tree to rest and wakes up to find that his camel unto whose back is covered with all the traveler’s food, clothing and luggage, has disappeared and he becomes saddened and reckless and distressed but suddenly he finds that his camel comes to him walking. This traveler is so overjoyed with happiness and relief that in he says : “Ya Allah you are my servant and I am Your Rabb!” He says this by accident! Ya Allah if You become happy even more than this traveler as it has been told to us in this hadeeth, then Ya Allah we too turn to You on this night begging You to wash away our sins and to make us alive again and give us a fresh start! “

Ya Allah Please Grant us Your Love only Your Love can save us from the Love of this world! Ya Allah please Grant us also the sweetness of faith! As the Aulia Kamileen have said that if the kings and princes of the world knew the joy and pleasure we get from sitting on our musallah (janaemaz i.e. prayer rug) in front of our Lord then they would sell all their treasures of this world to achieve it! Ya Allah out of your Bountless Mercy and Rahmah Grant us Your Love and the love of those who love you and the love of those who are beloved to You and the love of those who love your beloved (SAW). Ya Allah Grant us the taufiq to safeqaurd our gaze and protect ourselves from sinful thoughts.

Ya Allah You are Most Forgiving and Most Merciful and You Love to Forgive so Please Forgive us! O Allah if you do not Forgive us truly we will be amongst the Lost ones!

YA Allah Grant my Parents Mercy for they nourished me when I was small. Ya Allah Grant us ilm of the Deen and the ability to do amal on it! Ya Allah Grant us Love for the scholars, for the Auliya Kamileen. For the Prophet SAW said that a man will be with whom he loves (i.e. on the Day of Judgement) this means if we have love for those who are near to you surely we too will be with them on the Day of Judhement! But Ya Allah if we have Love for the superstarts of today! If we have love for the celebrities of today then how on earth will we receive the company of the righteous on the Day of Judgement!

YA Allah Please grant us the company of Your Loved ones and don’t turn us back to our hopeless life of sin!

Rabbana Ta qabal minna innaka antas samiul aleem, wa tub u alayna innaka anta tawabur raheem wa sallahu Tala Ala kahiree hee kahlqee hee Mohammadin wa ala alihee wa ashabihee ajmaen bee Rahmatee ka Ya Arhamarrahemeen!!
